Discover Scuba (and Bubblemaker) dispels common misconceptions about scuba diving by letting people try it for themselves. The program introduces basic safety information and then allows participants to scuba dive under close supervision in confined water. Discover Scuba encourages participant to continue their dive education by enrolling in a PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver course. When skills are introduced during the experience, divers may earn credit toward entry-level certification.

This program introduces scuba as an activity that allows kids to experience the underwater world. Under close supervision, participants swim around on scuba in shallow confined water – just playing. Colorful Bubblemaker emblems, decals, towels and toys along with a distinctive recognition certificate ,and card make the experience one to remember.

The PADI Open Water Diver course teaches student divers the foundational knowledge and skills they need to dive with a buddy, independent of supervision. The Scuba Diver course is a sub-course within the Open Water Diver course that teaches student divers the foundational knowledge and skills they need to dive under the supervision of a certified dive master, assistant instructor or instructor. Discussions regarding the standards, philosophy and structure of the Open Water Diver course apply equally to the Scuba Diver course, unless otherwise noted.
